List of Case Closed characters

The characters of ''Case Closed'', known as in Japan, are created by Gosho Aoyama. The series takes place in modern-day Japan and follows amateur detective Jimmy Kudo who solves cases in an episodic fashion.
The series begins when Jimmy Kudo follows two men in black but is caught and is fed a poison (later called APTX 4869) which was designed to kill a person without leaving evidence. However, the poison turns him into a child. He then adopts the alias Conan Edogawa in order to hide his true identity and to investigate the two men in black. Dr. Agasa places Jimmy in the care of his childhood friend Rachel Moore, and her father Richard Moore who runs a Detective agency. Throughout the series, Conan interacts and befriends many characters from various groups: the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, the local police in Conan's prefecture; The Junior Detective League, a group of children who solves mysteries for their clients; The FBI. He also befriends a few individuals who know of his true identity: Harley Hartwell, a high school detective from Osaka, and Anita Hailey, who has also taken the same poison.
The manga became licensed by Viz Media while the animation was licensed by Funimation Entertainment. The two companies attempted to Americanize the character names with both companies using different names for the same characters on several occasions. The list follows the Viz transliteration names. The manga published in English in Singapore by Shogakukan Asia uses the original Japanese names.〔"(Products -> Detective Conan Ten Seconds of Terror (show preview) )." Shogakukan Asia.
